On my recent trip back to my birth country, Australia, I was invited to my sister’s home for her bookclub gathering. A group of pro-actively inspired, creative, funny, inspirational and intellectual women all over 60 allowed me to experience the celebration of their community and connection. The importance of community for women as we age often gives new life, particularly as their own families have moved on to live their own lives. Seems to me, that we all still have life to live, and what better way than to live and share this with others who want and have the same! These fabulous gay women have found that connection. A mutual gathering of like-hearted women and it was wonderful to experience. I have been curious about connection, in being vulnerable, wanting shared experiences and in looking for purpose as we age. What drew you to your community? Whatever it may be, I hope you have found yours!
